Anna Biela selects iconic elements from the history of human culture that are particularly important to this day. It is also not incidental that these elements were formulated from the point of view of Christianity, which are of particular importance especially in our time during the conquest of Islam, so we can say they are iconic.
Anna Biela was born in Poland but studied in Germany and Canada. She has been living in Poland since 2005 where she obtained a master's degree and doctor's degree from universities of Krakow and Wroclaw, where she has been living and working since 2017.
She participated in summer art camps organized by Rovás in Tihany (HU) and Debrad (SK). Most of these exhibited works were made in these camps.
The paintings are connected by the technical solution that is the spray paint, with which she achieves subtle colours and transition shades. Apart from the technical solution these paintings are also connected by their subject and colour world.
With the title 'Iconic' she refers to the subject of her paintings as the Last Supper or the archangels are of outstanding importance in human culture and religious history.
The halo of glory becomes more important as in the earliest Christian art as only Jesus, the Father and the Holy Ghost deserved the halo of glory. The light phenomenon was used to highlight those chosen by God in art, iconography and Christian painting. Light in itself is also iconic as it was one of God's act during Creation.
The Last Supper is also of particular importance as Jesus established the Church ceremonies still valid today with the supper spent with the apostles.
